Did your last writing workshop—when they ripped your writing to shreds—leave you doubting the power of your words?
And crushes inspiration. Writing won’t flow when self-criticism or fear of being judged block the neural pathways needed for creativity ... But don’t despair!
Pointing out what needs fixing can scar a writer and stifle her creativity. While it’s how our school system works, it’s not exactly the best way to help a person write more and access her inspiration with ease.
Plus, an important part of FLOW involves commenting on others’ writing, looking for what they do well. And hearing others’ take on what’s working helps you expand your sensitivity to what constitutes good writing.
Along the way, you pick up craft tools.
FLOW’s approach is based on the Gateless Method, developed by Suzanne Kingsbury. FLOW also draws on Tama Kieves’ teachings on how to stay inspired.
Writing doesn’t have to be a struggle. Under the right conditions, your stories will pour out of you. Think of FLOW writing time as regular dates with your creative muse.
Consider it a writing high that’ll last the rest of your week. Who needs mushrooms when you can get a regular fix of FLOW?
We shine a light on what works. And focus on the positive.
Get used to being seen. No more hiding in the shadows.
Dive in. And see the words pour onto the page.
Follow whatever rises for you.
Consider all the possibilities.
You’ll meet a community of writerly peers live online.

One hour. But the writing takes place in 15 minutes. You’ll be amazed by how much you can generate in that time.
Nope. You write live while we meet each week.
Anyone who has felt called to write. You have stories to tell, perhaps even a book in you. But despite your inner genius, you’ve struggled to write. Maybe the blank page seems to glare at you. Or judges you. Perhaps you’ve put writing off. Or don’t feel you have the time.
You would love to write with ease. And regularly. You think a supportive space will help you feel safe enough to let it rip. You want more creative flow in your life. And you want to make writing a higher priority.
This isn’t a good fit for those who cling to the idea that good writing is inherently a struggle. Or those who persist in letting their inner critic steer them away from juicy projects. Nor is it a fit for people who are afraid of shifting their perspective on writing. It doesn’t have to be hard or painful, even if it was in school or college. Flow was designed to make it easier to start and keep writing.
Well, it’s the anti-workshop workshop. How so? In a typical writing workshop, people critique others by pointing out what needs fixing. In contrast, FLOW focuses on what’s working.
